Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Reno, NV is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician (2nd Shift) to join our GEIS team. The role includes troubleshooting and repairing electronic and mechanical systems on plant equipment, installing PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related controls, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or equivalent with maintenance experience or related technical education; strong blueprint reading; and eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and one year maintenance experience OR a Technical school diploma OR an Associate’s degree in electronics or commercial and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience reading electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical malfunctions on any plant machine, facility system or related equipment.
• Install, troubleshoots, repairs the following systems: PLCs, HMIs, VFD Drives, Vision Systems, MCCs, Power Distribution Centers, Motors (DC, AC, Stepper, Servo, etc.).
• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on all production equipment.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with NEC codes.
• Installation of new and/or used manufacturing equipment.
• Fabrication and machining as required to complete projects.
• Operation of lift trucks, man lifts and boom lifts to work in elevated locations.
• Fabrication of various devices and mechanisms to improve, repair or replace that which is not operating properly or efficiently
• Welding, prototyping, plumbing, painting, masonry, piping, and carpentry duties as necessary.
• Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.
