Job summary

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan seeks a Renewal Specialist to analyze agent issues, advise on underwriting rules, and mentor renewals staff across multi-state programs. You will resolve complex inquiries, collaborate with underwriting, audit, and service teams, and maintain compliance with bureau rules while supporting agents and policyholders.

The role emphasizes high-touch service, accuracy in pricing decisions, and ongoing agent onboarding and relationship-building across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in insurance and/or related field; progress toward or completion of IIA or other designation.
• Two years experience with Accident Fund Insurance Company of America as Renewal Specialist – Small Accounts or equivalent.
• Four years experience servicing agencies and policyholders with rules, procedures and audits, including endorsements and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and resolve agent issues quickly by following internal processes.
• Provide high-touch service to agency CSRs to build loyalty.
• Coordinate with service center and audit teams to keep processes current and compliant.
• Identify cross-functional solutions and understand industry direction and impact.
• Explain rating algorithms, contracts, and workers’ compensation laws to agents.
