Job description

The incumbent will be responsible for renewals of all GB Small Business Alpha cases and Signature cases up to 50 lives from the first renewal onwards, working with Account Executives (AE), Small Business (SB) Director, Renewal Underwriters, and other staff in the RGO. Supports the Account Executives in building and maintaining successful advisor relationships.

Persistency is key to Small Business profitability. This role focuses on maintaining high persistency while balancing group profitability through discretionary spending. It also involves working closely with the AE to enhance persistency and advisor relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare, send, manage, and negotiate renewals with plan advisors.
  2. Prioritize and monitor renewal workload by case and advisor.
  3. Access internal systems for renewal history, claims, and reports.
  4. Adjust renewal rates as appropriate, using Discretionary Spending Account (DSA).
  5. Suggest plan design options.
  6. Handle renewal and marketing appeals with renewal Underwriters.
  7. Assist advisors in selling renewals.
  8. Negotiate renewal costs with advisors.
  9. Follow up with advisors on renewals.
  10. Track terminations and document reasons for non-renewal.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of renewal processes and underwriting.
  • Good knowledge of Group Benefits products, services, pricing, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with industry trends and advisor needs.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to coach and assist plan advisors effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders with varying priorities.
  • Experience working with advisors of different maturity and understanding levels.
  • Skill in managing competing priorities and deliverables.
