Job description

Reporting to our Director of Renewals, the Renewal Manager is a critical role responsible for driving commercial contract excellence and client retention (GRR) across Billtrust customers. You will manage the end-to-end renewal process - from strategy creation through contract signature - for a territory of assigned accounts, working closely with Sales and Customer Success.

What You'll Do
Theme 1: Proactive Renewal Execution & Commercial Excellence
  • Own the full contract renewal lifecycle, initiating our standard process well in advance of contract expiration to ensure on-time renewals and commercial contract excellence.
  • Create and lead tailored renewal strategies for each account (including comprehensive pricing/contract analyses and recommendations)
  • Prepare and negotiate renewal options that align with both company and customer objectives.
  • Use various tools and platforms to manage your territory, track the renewal process, and minimize renewal risk wherever possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Theme 2: Cross-Functional Partnership & Enablement
  • Partner cross-functionally with a variety of teams to ensure contract renewals are executed as planned and in line with company standards.
  • Enable consistent renewal conversations with clear messaging, value articulation, and pricing rationale.
Theme 3: Reporting, Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
  • Track and report renewal performance metrics ongoing - including renewal status, churn risk, and forecasting—to inform leadership decisions, drive accountability, and achieve retention rate goals.
  • Leverage AI-powered resources to identify patterns across your renewal portfolio, prioritize outreach/follow up, and continuously improve forecast accuracy.
  • Help improve existing team processes by identifying gaps, refining best practices, and driving operational efficiency across our broader renewals function.
What You Bring
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in renewals or account management roles at a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large territory of renewals, from initiation through close, including complex pricing/term negotiations and executive stakeholder communication.
  • Proficient data analysis skills with experience tracking and reporting against renewal KPIs ongoing.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills—comfortable working alongside Sales, CS, Finance, Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, and leadership to align on strategy and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear value messaging and pricing rationale for diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using CRM and renewal management platforms (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Clari, etc.) for pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflow automation tools to enable territory management efficiency.
  • Background in fintech, payments, or accounts receivable software.

The expected base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 USD annually.

Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Further details will be provided by our Talent Acquisition team during the interview process.
