Job summary

Repsol Renewables Services North America (RRSNA) is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for a 12-week program in Downtown Houston. The role supports design, construction, operation, and optimization of solar, wind, and battery storage projects across the United States.

You will work with engineers to review drawings, perform calculations, and assist with field activities. The paid internship emphasizes safety, collaboration, and professional growth in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa requirements.
• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and renewable energy tech.
• Coursework in power systems, electrical machines, renewable energy, circuits or controls preferred.
• Experience with engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, PVSyst, or MATLAB is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Electrical Engineering team members in design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and design packages for solar, wind, and storage facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis related to power systems and electrical equipment.
• Assist in development and review of single-line diagrams, layouts, and cable schedules.
• Support project teams in evaluating equipment like inverters, transformers, switchgear, and battery systems.
• Analyze system performance data and assist with troubleshooting electrical and operational issues.
• Participate in project design reviews and cross-functional engineering meetings.
• Assist with commissioning, testing, startup activities, and field engineering support as needed.
• Maintain engineering records, drawings, reports, and project documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project updates for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and manufacturers to meet project goals.
• Travel to project sites across the United States as required.
