Energy Storage Asset O&M Director - Energy Storage

The Energy Storage Operations & Maintenance Director will join the organizational leadership team to shape the operational strategy for assets across the company's portfolio in a growing Asset Management Division. The role focuses on field-based O&M strategies, warranties, fleet management, commissioning, and testing of operational assets.
This team specializes in energy storage/battery storage asset management, O&M, energy trading strategies, and real-time operations. The role involves working with a cross-functional Asset Management and Energy Trading Team, including Sr. Directors, Directors, and Managers, to drive energy trading and optimization initiatives for renewable battery storage assets nationwide.

Responsibilities:
- Manage field-based O&M functions for utility-scale battery storage assets across ISO/RTOs nationwide, ensuring peak performance and revenue maximization.
- Develop and implement asset-based operations and maintenance strategies aligned with power trading and market strategies.
- Drive asset optimization through collaboration with IT and OT departments on hardware, software, and equipment evaluations.
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives to improve project performance, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors to maximize production and cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate with other directors and executive stakeholders on asset O&M, OSHA, NERC compliance, risk management, credit risk, and P&L reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or similar; 10+ years of renewable energy O&M experience, including leadership; experience in energy storage acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Proven success in field operational asset management, O&M strategy, portfolio management, and technical asset management in renewables.
- Experience with energy storage, BESS, or battery storage O&M providers and OEM equipment is highly preferred.
- Leadership in field asset management and portfolio optimization across various energy platforms.
- Ability to lead OSHA, ISO/RTO, and NERC compliance initiatives.
- Ideal roles: Sr. Director of Asset Management, Director of Technical Asset Management, Asset Operating Partner, O&M Director, Sr. Director of Operations and Maintenance, or similar.
