Energy Storage Asset O&M Director - Energy Storage

The Energy Storage Operations & Maintenance Director will join the organizational leadership team to develop and implement operational strategies for assets across the company's portfolio in a growing Asset Management Division. The role focuses on field-based O&M strategies, including warranties, fleet management, commissioning, and testing of operational assets.
This team specializes in energy storage and battery storage asset management, O&M, energy trading strategies, and real-time operations. The role involves working cross-functionally with Asset Management and Energy Trading teams to optimize renewable energy battery storage assets nationwide.

Responsibilities:
- Manage field-based O&M functions for utility-scale battery storage assets across ISO/RTOs to ensure optimal performance and revenue maximization.
- Develop and implement asset-based operations and maintenance strategies aligned with power trading and market participation.
- Drive asset optimization through strategic evaluations and collaboration with IT and OT departments.
- Lead troubleshooting initiatives to improve project performance, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors to maximize production and control costs.
- Collaborate with other directors and executive stakeholders on O&M, compliance (OSHA, NERC), risk management, and P&L reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field, with experience in utility-scale renewables asset management; 10+ years in O&M, with energy storage experience preferred.
- Proven success in field operational asset management, portfolio optimization, and technical asset management in renewables.
- Experience working with energy storage, BESS, or OEM equipment is highly preferred.
- Leadership experience in field asset management across energy platforms (solar, wind, storage, etc.).
- Ability to lead compliance initiatives for OSHA, ISO/RTO, and NERC standards.
- Relevant roles include Sr. Director of Asset Management, Director of Technical Asset Management, O&M Director, or similar positions in renewable or clean energy companies.
