Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a Renewable Project Manager in the United States. This hybrid/field-based role leads coordination, execution, and data-focused improvements for generation assets, working with engineering, operations, and vendors.

The ideal candidate brings extensive power/industrial project experience, strong planning and communication skills, and the ability to travel as required to site facilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of project activities to achieve defined objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Facilitate project meetings and track action items, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, technology, and vendor teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate transitions from existing site documentation to standardized documentation.
  • Oversee implementation activities and ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.
  • Support end-user training, adoption, communication, and change management initiatives.

Pay Rate: $60.00 – $65.00/hour on W2 (Based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule: Standard Shift

Skills Required

Primary (Must-Have)

  • Mechanical and/or Electrical design experience.
  • CAD development or certification experience.
  • Experience with P&ID reviews, CAD documentation, plant walkdowns, asset identification, numbering, and labeling.

Position Overview

The Renewable Project Manager will lead the coordination, execution, and implementation of projects focused on improving the management, accuracy, and integrity of generation asset data and documentation.

Working with the Operations Data team, this role will manage asset data documentation projects for new generation sites as well as remediation initiatives for existing generation facilities. Responsibilities will include plant walkdowns, drawing updates, P&ID reviews, CAD-related activities, asset equipment identification and labeling, project planning and scheduling, budget tracking, and O&M procedure reviews.

The Project Manager will serve as the central point of contact among engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, technology, and external vendors. This position requires strong project management and organizational skills along with experience in heavy industrial environments, preferably within the utility or renewable energy industry.

Project Coordination & Implementation

  • Lead planning, coordination, and execution of project activities to achieve defined objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Facilitate project meetings and track action items, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, technology, and vendor teams.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate transitions from existing site documentation to standardized documentation.
  • Oversee implementation activities and ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope.

Asset Documentation & Data Management

  • Assess existing site documentation, including drawings, procedures, and asset identification information.
  • Coordinate plant walkdowns and document findings.
  • Support drawing updates, P&ID reviews, and related CAD activities.
  • Coordinate asset equipment identification, numbering, and labeling.
  • Identify documentation gaps and develop remediation plans.
  • Ensure asset documentation is accurate, complete, accessible, and aligned with established standards.

Data Governance & Project Deliverables

  • Identify and document business requirements necessary to complete project objectives.
  • Gather and document requirements from engineering, supply chain, projects, asset management, operations, maintenance, and technology stakeholders.
  • Implement data governance policies, procedures, controls, and roles to maintain documentation integrity and consistency.
  • Support development and implementation of comprehensive data strategy initiatives.
  • Execute transition plans and oversee implementation of standardized project documentation.
  • Provide training, communication, and ongoing support to promote adoption of new documentation and tools.

Project Management & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, status reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable organizational standards and procedures.
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, customers, leadership, and external vendors.
  • Resolve project issues using analytical and solution-oriented approaches.
  • Maintain a strong customer and stakeholder focus throughout project execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power plant, power delivery, renewable generation, and/or heavy industrial environments.

  • Strong knowledge of power plant, utility, or industrial systems.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, Project, SharePoint, and related tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Renewable Generation sector.
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydro Generation, and/or Solar Generation sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • PMP certification.
  • Mechanical or Electrical design experience.
  • CAD Developer certification or related CAD experience.
  • Experience with plant walkdowns, P&ID reviews, CAD documentation, asset identification, and equipment labeling.
  • Combination of office, plant, field, and industrial environments as required by project activities.
  • Frequent collaboration with engineering, operations, maintenance, supply chain, asset management, technology, and vendor teams.
  • May require work at power generation and renewable energy facilities.
  • Travel may include day trips and overnight assignments, up to 50%.

Physical Requirements
