About the Role

Our company develops, owns, and operates power generation assets across the United States. We are seeking a Project Analyst to support our diligence activities related to acquisitions or joint ventures and our development activities related to existing power generation projects (e.g., gas-fired peaking and combined-cycle facilities, renewable facilities, and BESS facilities) through the construction and development lifecycle. Working closely with the Project Management Organization (PMO), the Project Analyst is responsible for tracking project activities, costs, and schedules across active projects, and for providing directors and company leadership with regular, accurate updates on project schedule, cost, and critical path items. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with schedule and cost data across multiple concurrent projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Tracking & Reporting

• Track project activities, milestones, and deliverables across active thermal, renewable, and BESS projects in coordination with the PMO
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets, identifying and flagging variances for project leadership
• Maintain integrated project schedules (P6/MS Project/Excel) and monitor progress against baseline, highlighting critical path items and schedule risks
• Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, dashboards, and pipeline summaries for directors and company leadership
• Support monthly and ad hoc reporting cycles, consolidating schedule, cost, and critical path updates into leadership‑ready materials
• Maintain project trackers and status dashboards that provide an up‑to‑date, portfolio‑wide view of active projects

Cost & Schedule Analysis

• Maintain project capital budgets (CAPEX), cost trackers, and variance reports, working with the PMO and SMEs to reconcile actuals against forecasts
• Analyze schedule performance data to identify trends, delays, and emerging critical path risks, and elevate findings to project leadership
• Track change orders, claims, and back‑charges, and maintain supporting logs to preserve cost and schedule accountability
• Support the preparation of project economics inputs and cost estimates used in ongoing investment and portfolio reviews
• Assist in developing and refining reporting templates and tracking tools to improve the consistency and accuracy of project data

PMO Collaboration & Process Support

• Work closely with the Project Management Organization to ensure alignment on reporting standards, data definitions, and project controls processes
• Support PMO efforts to standardize schedule and cost tracking practices across the project portfolio
• Coordinate with project managers and engineering leads to gather timely, accurate schedule and cost updates
• Participate in project review meetings, capturing action items and key decisions related to schedule and cost performance

Milestone & Compliance Tracking

• Track construction, commissioning, and Commercial Operation Date (COD) milestones, flagging deviations from plan for project leadership
• Track interconnection, gas supply, and utility‑related milestones relevant to project schedule and cost performance
• Support lender/independent engineer (IE) reporting requirements and documentation requests for project‑financed assets
• Help maintain project risk logs (technical, financial, permitting, fuel supply, interconnection), tracking status and mitigation actions

Documentation & Coordination

• Maintain organized project files and documentation related to schedule, cost, and performance tracking
• Coordinate with accounting, finance, engineering, and asset management teams to ensure schedule and cost data remains accurate and current
• Support the handoff of schedule and cost information from development/construction to operations

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
• 2-5+ years of experience in project controls, project analysis, project coordination, or a related analytical role within power generation development and/or construction
• Working knowledge of project cost tracking, budget variance analysis, and schedule management
• Proficiency with project scheduling and cost control tools (Primavera P6/MS Project) and strong Excel skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing, tracking, and reporting across multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate schedule and cost data into clear updates for directors and leadership
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (typically less than 10%)

Preferred:

• PMP certification, Project Management Institute (PMI) coursework, or equivalent
• Exposure to power generation development and construction (fossil, renewable, and BESS)
• Experience working within or alongside a Project Management Organization (PMO) on portfolio‑level reporting and controls
• Experience supporting project‑financed assets, including lender and independent engineer (IE) reporting and documentation requests
• Familiarity with document control platforms and contract management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Procore, or similar)

This role is primarily office‑based, working closely alongside the development organization, with periodic site visits to support project milestones and reporting needs.
