Job summary

Xcel Energy in the United States is offering a Renewable Operations internship embedded within our team that supports performance improvement initiatives across Solar, Energy Storage, and Wind assets. As an intern, you will analyze data, identify gaps, and help develop standardized processes while gaining hands-on experience with reporting tools and cross-functional collaboration, in a hybrid work setting.

This role starts May 24, 2027, with potential extension based on performance and business

Qualifications

Current student pursuing a degree in Data Analytics / Data Science.
Enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Willing to work full-time during summer up to 40 hours per week.
Travel to renewable sites and in-person presence at designated work location.
GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze operational performance data across Solar, Storage, and Wind assets.
Identify trends, performance gaps, and regional inconsistencies.
Support development of standardized processes and best practices across sites.
Assist with reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking tools.
Collaborate with site teams, reliability engineering, and performance optimization groups.
Provide recommendations to improve reliability, availability, and generation performance.
