Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Chicago, IL seeks a highly capable mid-level tax associate to counsel for renewable energy transactions, focusing on ITCs/PTCs and monetization structures across wind, solar, and energy storage assets.

You will advise tax equity sponsors, investors, and lenders on transferability, direct pay, and related strategies, while applying complex tax code provisions and drafting transaction documents.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on federal income tax aspects of renewable energy transactions, including ITC/PTC qualification and structuring.
• Counsel sponsors, investors, and lenders on tax credit transferability and monetization strategies.
• Analyze and apply Internal Revenue Code provisions and Treasury Regulations.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents related to tax credits and investments.
• Advise tax equity investors and project lenders on state and local taxes for renewables.
• Provide guidance on M&A transactions.
