Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Dallas, TX seeks a mid-level tax associate to counsel on renewable energy transactions and ITC/PTC monetization. The role focuses on wind, solar, battery storage, and other energy transition assets, with emphasis on production and investment tax credits.

You will advise tax equity investors, sponsors, and lenders on credit transfers, direct pay, and complex transactional tax matters, collaborating across teams under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience at a law firm.
• Experience with renewable energy tax credits, tax credit transfers, and complex transactional tax matters.
• Familiarity with ITCs/PTCs and related IRS guidance.
• Experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents.
• Strong analytical and technical tax expertise.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and work effectively under deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and strong client-service orientation.
• Admission to practice law in the jurisdiction of the office of residence (or eligibility to waive in).

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on federal income tax aspects of renewable energy transactions, including ITC/PTC qualification, structuring, and compliance.
• Counsel sponsors, investors, and lenders on tax credit transferability, direct pay, and credit monetization strategies.
• Analyze and apply complex provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including various agreements related to tax credits and investments.
• Advise tax equity investors and project development lenders on state and local taxes applicable to renewable energy projects.
• Provide guidance on M&A transactions.
