Job summary

BCG Attorney Search seeks a highly capable mid-level associate to counsel in Denver, CO, focusing on renewable energy tax transactions and credit monetization. The role involves advising on ITCs/PTCs, structuring deals, and supporting sponsors, investors, and lenders on complex tax strategies.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of tax experience at a law firm, strong drafting and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions under deadline pressure.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of relevant tax experience at a law firm.
• Experience with renewable energy tax credits (ITCs/PTCs) and complex transactional tax matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents.
• Strong analytical and technical tax expertise.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on federal income tax aspects of renewable energy transactions, including ITC/PTC qualification and compliance.
• Counsel sponsors, investors, and lenders on tax credit transferability, direct pay, and monetization strategies.
• Analyze Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations as they apply to energy projects.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents related to tax credits and investments.
• Advise tax equity investors and project lenders on state and local tax considerations.
• Provide guidance on M&A transactions related to energy assets.
