Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Systems Engineer II – Renewable Energy Solutions to perform and support system design, equipment design and rating, and system configuration for renewable energy solutions products for the Substation Division.

This hybrid role is based in Warrendale, PA and reports to the SSD Engineering Department Manager. The engineer will lead design studies, prepare one-line diagrams, perform performance calculations, and coordinate with supplier

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree, with 3–5 years of energy storage experience.
• Advanced knowledge of energy storage technology and emerging uses.
• Advanced knowledge of electric utility substation product lines.

Responsibilities

• Perform design studies and engineering activities that define the scope and installation of renewable energy solutions for customer projects.
• Direct and review technical studies performed by other departments and outside services.
• Perform equipment design and rating calculations for renewable energy solutions, including development of one-line diagrams and system performance calculations.
• Review customer specifications and guide customers with identification and selection of appropriate renewable energy solutions.
• Plan and define site commissioning tests and assist with startup activities at project sites.
• Develop equipment and system design specifications using customer input to ensure designs meet performance and customer requirements.
