Job summary

Puget Sound Energy in Washington State is seeking a Renewable Energy Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the development of a new solar facility in Kittitas County. You will work with Construction Management, EPC contractors, and the Energy Delivery team to drive the project from development handoff through commercial operation.

This role requires meticulous status reporting, KPI tracking, and managing budgets, schedules, forecasts, and risk registers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Eight years of experience managing complex major projects and budgets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to align divergent views.
  • Advanced project management skills and training.
  • Knowledge of utility operations, standards, and construction practices.
  • Experience with estimating, materials, scheduling and project accounting.
  • Mentoring and developing other Project Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules.
  • Identify critical path activities and recovery opportunities.
  • Monitor engineering, procurement, permitting, interconnection, and construction milestones.
  • Coordinate schedule alignment among developers, EPC contractors, utilities, and equipment suppliers.
  • Lead schedule risk assessments and mitigation planning.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Manage project CAPEX budgets and contingency.
  • Review EPC payment applications, invoices, and change orders.
  • Track budget commitments, expenditures, forecasts, and project cash flow.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims, contract amendments, and commercial disputes.
  • Implement cost control and change management processes.
  • Coordinate design reviews at 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC stages.
  • Review key engineering deliverables for compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate owner engineering reviews and technical due diligence.
  • Develop and maintain a project Risk Register
  • Lead risk workshops and mitigation planning.
  • Escalate critical issues and decision points to management.
  • Monitor permitting, environmental, supply chain, and construction risks.
