Renewable Careers is hiring a full-time engineer to support our renewable project portfolio in the Midwest. You will work with senior engineers, gaining real responsibility from day one across solar, wind and battery energy storage projects.

The role emphasizes data analysis, interconnection processes, and technical reviews, with travel to project sites in the Midwest and a clear development path within a growing clean-energy company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in renewable energy and clean energy transition.
• Excellent analytical ability and comfort with data and spreadsheets.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to simplify technical topics.
• Initiative and curiosity; ownership and quick learning.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Internship, co-op or project experience in energy is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects.
• Prepare energy production estimates, site evaluations and technical due diligence.
• Assist with interconnection applications and coordination with utilities (PJM and MISO).
• Review technical submittals from EPC contractors, consultants and vendors.
• Support construction and commissioning with travel to Midwest sites.
• Analyze performance data from operating fleet and suggest improvements.
• Contribute to tools, templates and standards used by the engineering team.

What you will do

You will support engineering across our project pipeline, learning from experienced engineers while taking on real responsibility from the start. Your work will include:

• Supporting engineering design and technical reviews for solar, wind and BESS projects at every stage
• Preparing energy production estimates, site evaluations and technical due diligence
• Assisting with interconnection applications and coordination with utilities, including PJM and MISO processes
• Reviewing technical submittals from EPC contractors, consultants and equipment vendors
• Supporting construction and commissioning, with travel to project sites across the Midwest
• Analyzing performance data from our operating fleet and recommending improvements
• Contributing to the tools, templates and standards our engineering team runs on

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil or environmental engineering, or a related field
• A demonstrated interest in renewable energy and the clean energy transition
• Strong analytical ability and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to make technical topics simple
• Initiative and curiosity: you take ownership, ask good questions and learn quickly
• Authorization to work in the United States
