Job summary

rPlus Energies in Salt Lake City, UT seeks a Development Associate to support the advancement of utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects. You will assist with permitting, land coordination, due diligence, stakeholder engagement, and tracking through development.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to build a career in renewable energy development, with experience in permitting or land services and strong communication skills. Travel up to 30–50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Environmental Studies, Energy Management, Engineering, Real Estate, Land Management, Planning, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in renewable energy development or related fields.
• Familiarity with permitting, land acquisition, environmental review, or project development processes.
• Strong organizational skills, communication, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with document management systems and data rooms (Box).
• GIS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Development Managers in advancing renewable energy and energy storage projects through the development lifecycle.
• Assist with site control activities including landowner coordination and title reviews.
• Coordinate permit applications, interconnection requests, environmental studies, and RFP submissions.
• Prepare and submit local, state, and federal permits and supporting documentation.
• Support due diligence with environmental, technical, and land方面 coordination with consultants and vendors.
• Track project schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
• Participate in landowner, agency, utility, and community outreach efforts.
• Maintain project records and data rooms; support cross-functional teams.
• Prepare project summaries, presentations, and internal reports.
