Job summary

McCarthy is seeking a Design Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including PV and BESS facilities. This role coordinates design activities across project teams, engineers of record (EORs), owners, vendors, and subcontractors to meet safety, quality, cost, schedule, and constructability goals.

The engineer will support multiple projects, build expertise in renewable design and design-build/EPC delivery, and drive collaboration, issue resolution, and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating engineering, design, construction, or project-delivery activities.
• Ability to read and review engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical project documents.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and partner locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across approximately four to five projects and lead assigned design scopes.
• Review drawings, specifications, EPC exhibits, and Basis of Design documents for alignment with project requirements.
• Identify conflicts and constructability concerns; elevate issues and support resolution.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, structural, SCADA, tracker, fiber, and other design disciplines.
• Schedule and support design-review meetings; document decisions and track commitments through closure.
