Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to support utility-scale renewable energy projects, coordinating design across internal teams, engineers of record, owners, vendors, and subs to deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.
Experience coordinating engineering, design, construction, or project delivery.
Ability to read and review engineering drawings and specs.
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate design submittals, RFIs, document control, logs, and reviews across multiple projects.
Review drawings, specifications, EPC exhibits, and Basis of Design for alignment with requirements.
Identify conflicts, constructability issues, and value-engineering opportunities; elevate and resolve.
Collaborate with civil, electrical, structural, SCADA, tracker, fiber, and other disciplines to maintain alignment.
Schedule and support design-review meetings; document decisions and track commitments to closure.
Support development of Basis of Design, EOR scopes, bid documents, and packaging strategies.
