Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer to support the successful delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects, including PV and BESS facilities.

The role coordinates design activities across internal teams, engineers of record, owners, vendors, and subcontractors to meet safety, quality, cost, schedule, constructability, and execution goals. The Design Engineer will support multiple projects and assigned design scopes, developing expertise in renewable energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Experience coordinating engineering, design, or project-delivery activities.
• Ability to read and review engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Support design coordination across multiple projects and scopes.
• Coordinate design submittals, RFIs, and document control.
• Review drawings, specifications, EPC exhibits, and Basis of Design.
• Identify conflicts, constructability concerns, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical, structural, SCADA, and other design disciplines.
