Job summary

Knobelsdorff (KE) is hiring an apprentice to support electrical installations for renewable energy projects in Kentucky. You will learn while working on PV string wiring, module connections, DC/AC terminations, and field testing under supervision.

The role requires enrollment in the KE Apprenticeship Program, willingness to travel up to 100%, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Physical work including lifting is expected.

Qualifications

• Enrollment and good standing in the KE Apprenticeship Program.
• Willingness to travel (up to 100%).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
• Prior documented electrical hours (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assist in pulling wire for PV string, DC, and AC feeder systems.
• Complete plug-and-play module connections and manage module leads.
• Perform DC terminations and label wiring for string wire, combiners, and inverters.
• Support AC terminations at inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
• Assist in electrical testing: insulation resistance and voltage tests.
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installs.
• Use hand and power tools to install racking and modules per design.
• Participate in daily safety and work planning meetings.
• Complete tasks using KE’s internal software systems for reporting and documentation.
• Learn from leadership and ask questions to gain a full understanding of assignments.
• Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding issues or deviations from scope.
