Qualifications

• Accredited nursing program required.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications required per unit.
• RN license in Florida required; newly licensed RNs have timer to obtain ACLS/PALS.
• Fetal monitoring certification or ability to obtain it may be required for L&D.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of the assigned department to align with objectives.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and quality of patient care.
• Assists with identification and provisioning of systems, equipment and supplies.
• Monitors usage and ensures proper working order of equipment and adequate supplies.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on assessments to optimize outcomes.
• Monitors, documents and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Manages staff relations including performance management, satisfaction and conflict management.
• May oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagements.
• Assesses quality of care and provides patient- and family-centered care.
• Manages complaints and conflicts through resolution.
• Helps develop department goals aligned with strategic plan.
