Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver patient-centered care in the Renal Dialysis unit. The role involves using the nursing process from admission through discharge, assessing patients, coordinating care plans, and educating families.

Strong collaboration with physicians and staff is essential to maintain high-quality care. Required Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS; ACLS may be required or current.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred or current as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Utilize nursing process to manage patient care from admission to discharge.
• Perform patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedures.
• Develop and coordinate individual care plans including discharge planning.
• Direct, supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care in the unit.
• Delegate tasks to others per job description and competency.
• Document patient care following standard procedures.
• Educate patient/family/significant other; plan/coordinate education.
• Collaborate with other health care providers to ensure quality care.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, operate equipment per policies; assist physicians.
• Participate in Nursing Governance activities.
• Support professional growth and staff development; mentor others.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and daily quality improvement.
