University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Health Care Assistant to join the Lincoln Renal Unit. The post involves haemodialysis support, patient care, and ongoing training to develop clinical skills in a renal setting.

You will help with nursing tasks, monitor patient vitals, and ensure clean, safe dialysis environments. Training is provided; NVQ3 or equivalent preferred, experience in renal care is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience essential.
• NVQ3 or equivalent preferred.
• Renal experience desirable but not required; training provided.

Responsabilités

• Assist with essential nursing care.
• Perform vital sign observations before, during and after dialysis.
• Record vital observations in dialysis charts and report to nurse.
• Maintain communication with nurses during shift.
• Weigh patients before and after dialysis and record in HD chart.
• Conduct weekly diabetic foot checks and monthly checks for non-diabetic patients.
