University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Community Renal Care Assistant to join the Lincoln Renal Community Team. The role involves daily home visits to renal patients, supporting haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis care, and travel within the Lincoln area with car reimbursement.
Applicants should have prior HCA experience and ideally NVQ3 or equivalent. Full training and ongoing professional development are provided in a supportive NHS environment.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time enthusiastic, well-motivated Health Care Assistant to join Lincoln Renal Community Team. We are an expanding team who care for a cohort of patients that undertake either haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis at home. The community teams work alongside their colleagues in the Lincoln Dialysis units and you will be based at the Lincoln site.
You must have previous HCA experience working and ideally hold an NVQ3 or equivalent. Previous experience in renal is desirable but not essential, as full support and training will be given. The team that you will be joining is dedicated to training and promoting your continuous professional development.
The role involves working as part of the home care team delivering high quality of care for a wide variety of renal patients. This will include daily visits to patients homes to monitor their care and assist them so the ability to transport yourself is essential. Reimbursement for the use of a car for travel within the role is available. There are various hours available during the core hours of 8:00 – 20:00 with weekend working included.
The successful candidate will be flexible, demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to personal and professional development and a desire to provide a high standard of care delivery to chronically ill patients.

Provide clinical and non-clinical support to the multi-professional team under the direction of an appropriate registered health care professional.
Deliver direct and indirect care as delegated under the direction and supervision of an appropriate registered health care professional.
Support the delivery of effective health care to patients/service users by undertaking duties as identified by the multi- professional team.
Undertake specified and unsupervised aspects of care and therapeutic intervention as delegated by the registered health care professional within an agreed protocol, sphere of responsibility and after completing appropriate competency- based training agreed by the Trust.
Attending patients homes for monitoring and delivering high quality care on a daily basis.
