Position: Removal Defense Immigration Attorney

Location options include Austin or San Antonio, with occasional travel between the two. Candidates should be willing to travel as needed to support clients effectively.

Role Overview:
Represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings, including cancellation of removal, asylum, and bond hearings. Handle cases involving detained and non-detained clients, contributing to their pursuit of justice and restoration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in immigration removal proceedings, including cases related to cancellation of removal, asylum, and bond hearings.
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and advocate in court.
• Implement policies to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
• Maintain effective communication with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Travel to jails, courts, and detention centers in Central Texas to support representation.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as an immigration attorney focusing on removal defense.
• JD degree and active law license in the U.S., preferably Texas.
• Strong leadership, legal writing, research, and advocacy skills; ability to manage a high-volume environment.
• MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH
• Valid driver’s license for travel within Central Texas.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with family-based immigration cases (I-130s, adjustment of status, etc.), VAWA, and U-visa cases is highly favorable.
• SIJS and unaccompanied minors representation experience is highly preferred.
