Job summary

Peraton is seeking a z/OS Systems Programming Manager to lead and perform hands‑on mainframe systems programming for a state contract. The role supports remote delivery from the Alabama-based team with responsibilities across architecture, disaster recovery, and operational leadership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a z/OS systems programmer and 5+ years in technical leadership, with experience in data center operations, audits, and enterprise mainframe technologies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required with 10+ years of experience.
• 5 years hands-on experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer.
• 5 years in a technical lead or project lead role.
• Experience analyzing and solving system software or network problems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and definition of system and network architecture for new or existing complex computer systems.
• Define transitions for new customers to the Data Center location in Albuquerque, NM.
• Manage software and network product solutions, performance, upgrades and disaster recovery.
• Provide program management and customer reports including SLA adherence and performance.
• Supervise the data center team’s daily operations and staff scheduling.
• Coordinate with internal teams and customers on technical activities.
