Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions LLC in the United States seeks a Work at Home Bilingual Yunnanese-English Phone Interpreter. As an independent contractor, you’ll handle on-demand calls across healthcare, government, and more, translating spoken meaning between Yunnanese and English.

This remote role requires a quiet home office and adherence to interpretation protocols. You’ll receive training, opportunities for advancement, and a competitive pay rate of $0.75–$0.90 per minute, with no employee benefits

Qualifications

• Fluency in Yunnanese and English; cultural competency in communication.
• Ability to assess regional/accent differences for LEP communication.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking for accurate interpretation.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly in interpreting sessions in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render correct concepts per established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain professionalism and neutrality on all calls.
• Remain calm during emergency or high-volume calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations while protecting LEP privacy.
• Understand procedures across Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
• Handle calls that may be emotional or stressful and may be lengthy.
