Job summary

MedHQ, LLC is seeking an Office-Based Wound Care Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for wound care procedures and office services. The coder ensures compliance with federal, state, and payer rules while supporting revenue cycle initiatives.

The remote, full-time role requires CPC certification and at least 2 years of coding experience (wound care preferred). Applicants must be able to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Certified CPC or equivalent credential required.
• Minimum 2 years coding experience, wound care preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation from office visits, surgeries, and other wound care services.
• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes per guidelines.
• Verify coding accuracy to support correct claims and reduce denials.
• Query providers when documentation is incomplete or unclear.
• Keep current with wound care coding updates and payer policy changes.
• Collaborate with billing to resolve denials and coding issues.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and participate in coding audits.
• Educate providers and staff on documentation improvements for orthopedic coding.
