Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years in workers' compensation defense or civil litigation.
• Proven track record defending workers' compensation cases.
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and civil litigation procedures.
• Experience handling insurance coverage issues and fraud investigations.
• Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to explain complex concepts.
• Ability to manage high-volume caseload and work independently.
• Proficiency with legal research software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception through resolution.
• Develop and implement defense strategies; conduct discovery; take and defend depositions.
• Draft and argue motions; represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis on workers' comp, employment, labor, and insurance issues.
• Handle all aspects of civil litigation, including pleadings and discovery.
• Investigate and defend against fraud claims.
• Advise clients on employment law issues including wrongful termination and ADA compliance.
• Assist in developing and revising employee handbooks for compliance.
• Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations.
• Provide exceptional client service with timely updates and clear legal advice; collaborate with team.
