Job summary

Sedgwick in NY is seeking a Claims Examiner to analyze Lost-Time Workers' Compensation claims for our public entity clients, determine benefits due, and ensure timely adjudication. You will work within regulatory requirements, negotiate settlements, and communicate with claimants and clients to maintain service levels.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of claims management experience, a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred), and licensing knowledge for NY.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years of claims management experience or equivalent.
• Licensing: NY jurisdiction knowledge; NY licensing required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process Lost-Time Workers’ Compensation claims to determine benefits.
• Negotiate settlements within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity to claimants and clients.
• Report claims to excess carriers and respond to directions professionally.
