Job summary

AvonRisk is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to manage state Act WC claims, determine compensability, verify coverage, administer disability and medical benefits, and negotiate resolutions for insureds, employers, and medical/legal professionals throughout the lifecycle of a claim.

The role requires maintaining accurate claim notes, timely data entry, and proactive collaboration with legal counsel, underwriters, and risk management teams to support early return-to-work strategies

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation laws across states.
• Strong medical terminology understanding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receives newly reported claims and determines coverage.
• Maintains claim notes and records throughout the lifespan of the claim.
• Interviews claimants, insureds, medical professionals and witnesses.
• Sets reserves and calculates lost time wages and disability payments.
• Collaborates with legal counsel and underwriters; attends settlement conferences.
