Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Wildlife Biologist II to join our Natural Resources team to help deliver California's critical surface transportation projects. This is a remote, part-time, on-call position supporting our transportation client, ideally located in Monterey, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, or Pismo Beach.

The role focuses on impact analysis for biological resources with emphasis on technical writing, including desktop reports and field surveys.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or a related environmental science field.
2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in biological surveys and monitoring in California.
Valid US Driver's License and pre-employment driving record verification is required.
Independent travel will be required.
US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Biological compliance monitoring during active construction projects.
Surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting birds.
Preparation of technical reports to document findings from surveys and monitoring.
Preparation of other biological technical reports or permit application packages as needed.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with AECOM, client, and construction personnel.
Organization of project files and tracking of project schedules.
