Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Wildlife Biologist II to join our Natural Resources team to support California's transportation projects. This is a remote, part-time, on-call position with flexible hours, primarily serving our transportation client.

Ideally, candidates should be located in Monterey, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo, or Pismo Beach. The role focuses on impact analysis for biological and aquatic resources, including technical writing, desktop reports, assessments, and field surveys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, or related environmental science field.
• 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in California biological surveys and monitoring.
• Valid US Driver's License and ability to travel.
• US Citizenship is required due to nature of work.

Responsibilities

• Biological compliance monitoring during active construction projects.
• Surveys for special-status wildlife and nesting birds.
• Preparation of technical reports documenting survey findings and monitoring.
• Prepare permit applications and related biological documentation as needed.
