Job summary

athenahealth is seeking a West Coast–based Senior Manager, Sales Operations & Contracting to lead a remote team that supports client acquisition, onboarding, and deal execution for the small group segment. You will partner with Sales, Customer Success, Onboarding, Finance, Legal, and Continuous Improvement to improve contracting, ordering workflows, and service quality.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Sales Operations, you will drive accountability, manage metrics and queues, and leverage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in customer support, operations, or a related operational role.
• Ability to work West Coast hours and manage a remote, high-volume queue.
• Prior people management experience and proven coaching impact.
• Strong relationship-building and data interpretation skills.
• Experience with Salesforce CPQ and BI/visualization tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Operations team with accountability and consistent execution.
• Translate business priorities into team goals and day-to-day work direction.
• Manage the shared case queue, monitor volume, aging, and turnaround times.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Onboarding, Finance, Legal, and CI to improve contracting and order processing.
• Oversee proposal, contracting, and order processing activities, including updates and approvals.
• Improve workflows to streamline and automate processes using cross-functional collaboration.
• Maintain team reporting, dashboards, and metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
• Use AI-enabled tools to organize data, summarize reporting, and surface insights.
• Travel up to 20% annually.
