Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Applications Engineer to join the Wellbore Interventions team in North America Offshore. You will support reliability and applications efforts, focusing on run life improvement actions and analysis across products in a cross‑functional environment.

The role requires a engineering degree, several years of tech support experience, and strong communication skills in English. Occasional remote work and flexible hours are offered within a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of Engineering/Technology experience)
• Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Technology Support
• Extensive experience with Completions and Well Intervention and Drilling Services equipment Field Service or Application engineering
• Knowledge in Drilling Services Applications and Logs, especially CWI systems
• Fluent in English (oral and written) with strong communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office to develop RCA reports

Responsibilities

• Interact daily with Operations Management, Product Line Technical Support, and customers to meet objectives
• Provide deployment and interpretation guidance of Smart Intervention tools
• Advise external customers and third‑party wellsite teams as appropriate
• Resolve a broad range of complex problems at the wellsite with data analysis and product knowledge
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, NPI, Marketing, Manufacturing/AMO, and Operations to keep documentation current
• Assist regional engineers with Failure Analysis to determine root cause and corrective actions
• Prepare customer root cause analysis reports including FMEA, cause mapping, fault trees, and problem solving
• Lead customer response teams during high‑impact failures
