Qualifications

• Four years of experience enforcing weights and measures laws and inspecting devices (NY HELPS).
• Associate/Bachelor/Master/Doctorate qualifications may substitute for experience per NY HELPS rules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise municipal weights and measures officials in inspection and testing of commercial devices.
• Plan and conduct on-site audits of municipal programs to advise management on policy effectiveness.
• Inspect and test classes of commercial devices not typically tested by municipal officials; sample petroleum products and enforce actions.
• Train municipal officials in obtaining retail petroleum samples and assist in enforcement actions.
