Job summary

Blue State is seeking a Program Manager to lead website development and digital projects for nonprofits and progressive organizations. You’ll coordinate with Tech, Strategy, Design, and Analytics to research user needs, define requirements, create sprint plans, and test deliverables across a portfolio of clients.

You will connect stakeholders across disciplines, manage budgets and timelines, and help shape proposals while guiding teams through scope, risk, and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of program management or similar roles such as product management or technical project management.
• Experience with CMS-driven websites, such as WordPress, to guide designers and engineers toward feasible solutions.
• Familiarity with marketing platforms, including CRMs, and data/personalization tech used by nonprofits to engage supporters.
• Willingness to wear multiple hats and get into the weeds to reach milestones.
• Ability to use wireframes to communicate recommendations to design teams.
• Knowledge of AI landscape and the ability to evaluate AI outputs critically.
• Excellent communication skills with engineers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets and timelines for website redesigns and other digital projects, defining scopes and gathering estimates across disciplines.
• Distill clients’ goals and priorities through interviews, workshops, analytics, platform audits, and other research forms.
• Write and maintain requirements with clear functionality, user flows, and edge cases.
• Identify potential scope creep and mitigate risk with internal teams and client stakeholders.
• Help create sprint plans and release schedules.
• Develop testing and measurement plans with strategists and analysts.
• Manage multiple website build projects and prioritize them in context of agency/client expectations.
• Evaluate stakeholder feedback and prioritize features; propose alternatives when budget constraints arise.
• Support Business Development with scoping of new client engagements and ensure feasibility.
• Oversee project communications, resourcing, and financial health tracking.
• Lead project status meetings with teams and clients.
• Leverage AI to accelerate tasks like writing requirements and organizing inputs.
