Job summary

Vikco Insurance Services, LLC, a subsidiary of K2 Insurance Services, LLC, seeks a remote VP/Senior Commercial Property Underwriter (E&S) to manage a profitable book, mentor junior staff, and service wholesale brokers. Strong layered/shared program experience and cat/exposed property knowledge are preferred.

The role requires independent evaluation, pricing, and structuring of complex risks with delegated authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prefer 5 years of underwriting experience in Exess & Surplus lines.
• Experience supporting E&S underwriting operations.

Responsibilities

• Review underwriting submissions for completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze exposure, financial data, loss history, and risk indicators to support risk selection and pricing.
• Conduct research to identify risk characteristics or issues affecting acceptability.
• Calculate rating bases per approved guidelines.
• Enter verified exposure and rating data into the rating system and resolve discrepancies.
• Rate complex accounts using approved methodologies and guidelines.
• Prepare binders and distribute to producers.
• Issue policies and endorsements reflecting terms and pricing.
• Maintain complete policy files and use underwriting systems.
• Support projects and coordinate tasks with team members.
• Develop relationships with producers and provide timely, accurate information.
