Job summary

Active Minds seeks an experienced Vice President of Finance and Operations in Washington, DC with remote options. This senior executive will oversee finance, technology and operations, reporting to the COO, and manage accounting, audits, budgets and investments.

Leading a small leadership team, you will shape financial strategy, improve controls, and ensure operational excellence across departments in a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit finance regulations.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with managerial leadership in a nonprofit.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial reporting for Active Minds.
• Oversee annual budget development and monitoring across grants.
• Manage external audits and reporting to the Board and COO.
• Direct cross-functional finance, technology and operations teams.
• Oversee investment policy and relationship with managers.
