Job summary

Montera is seeking a Vice President of Data Center Design to lead end-to-end facility design across the portfolio, reporting to the CTO. You will manage five Principal ICs—Architect, Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, and Network—aligning reference architectures and driving schedule, cost, and quality from concept through commissioning.

You will govern design contracts with external partners, drive design reviews, support permitting, and ensure integration with procurement and construction.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data center or mission-critical design and delivery.
• Experience leading multi-discipline design programs with accountability for schedule, cost, and quality.
• Strong commercial and schedule discipline; excellent judgment on constructability and risk.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design delivery across the portfolio from concept to construction.
• Lead and develop the five Principal ICs and align reference architectures.
• Define, negotiate, and manage design contracts with design partners and interface with Legal, Finance, and Procurement.
• Oversee design reviews, coordination meetings, and constructability reviews; ensure timely responses.
• Ensure AHJ permitting support and handover documentation from GCs and subs.
