Downtown Boulder Partnership is seeking an experienced Image Factory Developer for a long-term remote contract. The role involves building and managing automated VM image pipelines for Linux and Windows environments using tools like Packer, Ansible, and Terraform.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in OS customization, scripting, and experience with container-based deployments. Collaboration with infrastructure and security teams is essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Linux/Windows OS customization.
• Hands-on with Packer, Ansible, Terraform, Crossplane, and bootc.
• Scripting in Bash or PowerShell.
• Experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Podman, and containers.
• Solid grasp of REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Developer Hub (Backstage) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build automated VM image pipelines using Packer, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Add custom Ansible Playbooks and software to base images.
• Implement privileged access for image testing and re-deployment.
• Manage lifecycle workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams for requirements.
• Support container-based deployments (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Integrate with internal APIs for image cataloging and provisioning.
