Job summary

Intelligent Technical Solutions in Chicago, IL, seeks a vCIO to establish strategic client partnerships, guide technology roadmaps, budgeting, and business alignment. You will reduce risk and act as a trusted advisor, coordinating with design, security, and support teams to deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities include driving ROIs, overseeing projects, and providing leadership across cross-functional teams. Remote-friendly with occasional on-site client visits, located in the Chicago area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure, telecommunications, business applications, and emerging technology trends.
• Experience with Microsoft environments, network infrastructure, and cloud technologies.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, and similar standards.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language for executives.
• Strong project oversight experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Client Engagement: conduct regular strategic reviews with client stakeholders and maintain ongoing communication.
• Strategic Planning & Alignment: develop technology roadmaps and assist with budgeting and ROI/TCO analysis.
• Solution Design & Oversight: collaborate on proposals, review budgets and outcomes against goals.
• Internal Collaboration: coordinate with success, security, and support teams and mentor staff.
• Governance & Administration: maintain documentation and ensure policy compliance.
