Job summary

Decile Group is seeking a Fund Controller to ensure accuracy and integrity of fund accounting across supported venture funds. You will own standards, interpretations, and policy application while serving as the escalation point for complex questions.

This role collaborates with senior fund accountants, treasury, compliance, and external auditors, and partners with Product and Engineering to translate accounting requirements into scalable workflows. Remote-first, competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience in fund accounting or fund administration.
• Deep understanding of VC or private equity fund structures and workflows.
• Experience defending accounting judgments in multi-fund environments.
• Experience translating accounting requirements into scalable systems or tooling.
• Familiarity with LPAs and related accounting implications.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities for non-accountants.
• Ability to lead with clarity, collaboration, and consistency.
• Comfort operating in a remote, fast-moving organization.
• Nice to have: prior VC fund experience or audit/public accounting background.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting standards, interpretations, and policies across supported venture funds.
• Serve as final escalation point for complex accounting questions and edge cases.
• Review and approve financial outputs requiring accounting judgment.
• Ensure consistent accounting treatment across funds and structures.
• Partner with audit and tax providers for clean reviews.
• Guide Senior Fund Accountants in applying standards.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to design accounting workflows and tooling.
• Identify recurring complexity to address via tooling rather than manual intervention.
• Support fund migrations and structural changes from an accounting perspective.
