Job summary

GM2 Associates, Inc. in Virginia seeks a Virginia-licensed Senior Bridge Engineer / Project Manager to lead bridge and structural design projects across the state.

The role emphasizes technical depth, project leadership, multidisciplinary coordination, and strong client-management skills. You will oversee assignments from preliminary engineering through final design and construction support, manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and client expectations, and help grow GM2’s Virginia

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in bridge and structural design.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing bridge design projects.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD, AASHTO MBE, bridge plans, specifications, calculations, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead bridge and structural projects from concept through final design, bidding, and construction support.
• Develop and review designs for steel, reinforced-concrete, and prestressed-concrete bridges; culverts; rehabilitations; replacements; and highway structures.
• Provide technical oversight, quality control, and design direction.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Lead meetings and serve as a primary contact for clients, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Mentor engineering staff and support proposal development, fee preparation, interviews, and business development.
