Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a UX Accessibility Specialist to ensure digital products are accessible for clients, branch teams, and colleagues. You will guide product, technology, UX, sourcing, and legal teams using WCAG standards and ARIA practices to drive accessible design, development and procurement decisions.

You will lead audits, provide actionable findings, and mentor teams to mature accessibility maturity while embedding accessibility into product team processes in a remote, contract role.

Qualifications

• 7-9 years of professional digital accessibility experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Instructional Design, or Computer Science.
• Accessibility certifications such as CPACC or WAS.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for the user throughout design and development to deliver intuitive experiences.
• Audit products to identify pain points and align with product goals and constraints.
• Advise stakeholders on accessibility tradeoffs and impact on users with disabilities.
• Prioritize accessibility defects and enhancements.
• Guide developers on accessible development practices using HTML, CSS and ARIA.
• Embed accessibility into team processes and improve maturity.
• Create accessibility annotations for development and callouts for keyboard and screen readers.
• Lead accessibility training and empower colleagues to apply accessibility in their work.
• Foster cross-team alignment by updating patterns and components documentation.
• Lead program-level initiatives to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
