Job summary

Egis is seeking a Utility Engineering Lead to provide technical and project leadership for utility engineering, utility coordination, and SUE services across Texas. You will lead project teams, collaborate with clients and stakeholders, support business development, and help deliver critical transportation infrastructure for TxDOT and local agencies.

The role demands a PE in Texas, 10+ years of leadership in utility-related transportation projects, and strong mentoring and client-relations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas is required.
• 10+ years leading utility engineering, coordination, and SUE on transportation projects.
• Experience mentoring engineering and technical staff.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients, utilities, and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Egis Utility Engineering practice, overseeing engineers, coordinators, SUE technicians, and inspectors.
• Manage department operations including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Serve as a technical leader on utility engineering and SUE projects for TxDOT programs.
• Oversee utility conflict analysis, relocation coordination, and related services.
• Coordinate with utility owners, TxDOT, contractors, CEI teams, and design staff to resolve conflicts and support delivery.
• Review and oversee preparation of utility plans, agreements, and technical reports.
• Provide quality oversight and ensure deliverables meet client requirements and schedules.
• Support business development through proposals, client presentations, interviews, and pursuits.
• Mentor staff and promote collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
