Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Usability Engineer for its Design Team. Location: remote in the EMEA region. You will collect and analyze user data, prototype impactful solutions, and tailor findings for diverse stakeholders in a highly technical setting.

You will promote a data-informed culture, build scalable research operations, and contribute to learning and outreach. A strong portfolio and relevant advanced degree are required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Design, Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.
• Experience in qualitative and quantitative user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys, A/B tests).
• Portfolio showing user research, design, or engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize user data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Prototype lightweight concepts and data visualizations for broader use.
• Tailor research presentations for diverse stakeholders in a technical environment.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to embed research into decisions.
• Strengthen research ops, tooling, and scalable processes.
