Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a US Auditor to support a diverse US client portfolio as a full-time independent contractor. You will plan engagements, map risks, test controls, and perform substantive procedures across multiple industries, while documenting a clear audit trail and practical recommendations.

You will work across US time zones, mentor teammates, refine playbooks, and ensure reviews meet GAAS standards with crisp, client-friendly communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of US external audit experience (public practice or equivalent).
• Strong command of US GAAP and US GAAS (AICPA); exposure to PCAOB standards a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan the engagement: define scope, materiality, risk assessment and tailor audit programs.
• Understand and test controls: walkthroughs of key processes and test design/operating effectiveness.
• Execute substantive work: analytical procedures and tests of details (confirmations, cut-off, existence).
• Evaluate ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting aspects.
• Audit key estimates: AR allowances, inventory NRV, impairments, contingencies.
• Prepare workpapers: GAAS-compliant, cross-referenced with conclusions.
• Communicate findings and remediation steps clearly to clients.
