Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care seeks a Remote Supervising Physician to oversee Advanced Practice Providers, provide clinical guidance, and ensure quality of care across centers. This role emphasizes oversight, documentation review, and escalation decisions while maintaining compliance with SC regulations.

Work is fully remote, but the physician must reside in South Carolina and hold board certification or eligible status with SC medical licensure, plus DEA and BLS as needed.

Qualifications

• Must physically reside in the state of South Carolina.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience with procedures including suturing and drainage of abscesses.
• Experience reading diagnostic studies, including X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification (we will provide this if needed).
• Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by Prisma Health Urgent Care / WellStreet Urgent Care.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support to APPs in accordance with laws, policies, and standards.
• Review and cosign APP documentation as required by law or credentialing.
• Provide guidance and case review for APPs during orientation or supervision periods.
• Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities related to APP practice.
• Support APP practice within the provider’s scope of practice and supervision requirements.
